Honored on the Global Stage: Most Outstanding Presentation Award at WVAC 2026
I am deeply honored to have received the Most Outstanding Presentation Award at the 41st World Veterinary Association Congress (WVAC) 2026, held in Tokyo, Japan.
The award was presented in recognition of my research presentation, "Bridging Veterinary and Human Medicine: Potential Risks of Carbapenem-Resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa in Pets." This study highlights the importance of a One Health approach in understanding and addressing antimicrobial resistance at the interface of animal and human health.
WVAC is one of the world's largest and most prestigious veterinary congresses, bringing together more than 6,000 participants from over 70 countries. The opening ceremony, attended by Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress of Japan, underscored the important role of veterinary medicine and One Health in addressing global challenges.
Receiving this award on such an international stage is both humbling and inspiring. I am sincerely grateful to my supervisor, Assoc. Prof. Toyotaka Sato, as well as my collaborators, laboratory members, colleagues, and everyone who has supported my research journey and professional development.
This recognition encourages me to further contribute to the advancement of veterinary medicine and One Health through impactful research on infectious diseases and antimicrobial resistance, as well as through international collaboration and science communication.
